Live attenuated vaccine against Canine distemper, Canine adenovirus type 1(Infectious canine hepatitis), Canine Parvovirus disease, Canine Parainfluenza ,Canine adenovirus type 2  (lyophilized powder) and Letospira canicola, Leptospira icterohaemorrhagia (liquid fraction).

Manufacturer:

Virbac is a French company dedicated to animal health. It was founded in 1968 by veterinarian Pierre-Richard Dick. The company is the 8th largest veterinarian pharmaceutical group with a turnover of 736 million euros in 2013.

Overdose:

10 times dosage at the single site does not cause any adverse reaction.

Side Effects:

  • Swelling on the side of administration.
  • Mild fever
  • Listlessness

PROS:

Ease of Dosage and administration:

A number of doses:  Three dosages. First injection 8 weeks age, second vaccination after 3-4 weeks. Last vaccine at 15 weeks age (optional)

Route of administration: subcutaneously which is the very convenient route of administration.

Combination have all core viral disease along with bacterial leptospirosis covered in one shot.

CONS:

The onset of immunity takes more time than Nobivac.

Immunity

The onset of immunity 3 weeks after administration, 4 weeks for canine adenovirus 1 and canine parainfluenza virus, 5 weeks for Leptospira.

Duration of Immunity:

For 3 years after the booster dose (at 1 year age), Canine parainfluenza and Leptospira vaccine needs to be repeated annually.
